Melbourne

In 1962, Peter and Katerina with their two children, Natalie and Steven, decided to join the rest of the Senjov family in Melbourne and the Ukrainian Melbourne Community. Also, three of Katerina's siblings were already living in Melbourne.

On arrival in Melbourne, Katerina went to work at Queen Victoria Hospital, and like many other migrant women, she became a domestic to clean in the hospital wards. Again, she was fortunate to find, within a short time, a job in the Biochemistry Department as a laboratory assistant in which she remained till the end of her working life. The young girls in the department were extremely friendly and helpful, and they always included Katerina in their various activities.

Life was pleasant and fruitful, and Peter and Katerina celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with both Burlak and Senjov families, their svate-the Makohons, and friends in 1998.
